Promoting Abkhaz railroad project raises questions on Georgia’s strategic orientation - Saakashvili (January 21, 2013 | 21:02 , news.am)
President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili said that promotion of re-opening of Abkhaz railroad raises questions about Georgia’s strategic orientation.
On Monday Georgian leader addressed the delegates of PACE winter session and touched upon Premier Bidzina Ivanishvili’s recent remarks made in Yerevan.
“Denouncing the Baku-Istanbul railway project, while promoting the Abkhaz one, raises questions about our strategic orientation that need to be answered swiftly,” Saakashvili said.
As the Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the Georgian PM has said at a press conference in Armenia that re-establishment of the Abkhazia-Georgia-Armenia railroad is possible and that the Georgian side has always expressed readiness to it.
